Thumbs up Main't Requi'd

Well my main't light came on last night. Just wondering why this would be? Does the s2k have an oil change light? I changed it last 3,500 miles without any sort of reset. Otherwise what else would cause this? I've got Redline MT-90 coming for the trans, Redline 75w90 coming for the pumpkin and I've got Amsoil 5w30 Syn for the motor.

That light is just saying its time to change the oil. Most of us dont go by that since it only comes on every 6000 miles. That pretty much is our oil change light. There is a red light thats an oil can, but if you ever see that light, you engine is doomed.

To reset it, turn the ignition switch to LOCK. Press and hold the trip meter reset button and turn the ignition to the ON position. Continue holding the trip button until the Maint Req light turns off.

Main't Req'd light is the oil change reminder and nothing more. It blinks shortly at 6k mi intervals, than constant at 7k or 7.5k mi I think - its based on the factory recommended 7.5k mi interval but just counts miles. S2ks from 06 on have a smarter OCI system that provides % of oil life left based on mileage, time, and driving behavior.

Fwiw, the red oil light is low oil pressure - if it ever comes on, turn the car off and add oil.

Redline MT 90 is not the right oil for your tranny. It'll be shakin like a dog shittin' razor blades. The recommended tranny oil is of a 10w30 range.Use Honda MTF or GM synchromesh.

DAAAAMN!!!! wtf am i gonna do with this qt of MT-90? I researched for an hr trying to figure out the best oils and that was one of them. and P.S. thanks you guys for the help on the noob question. Very appriciated. I'll take the car in to Honda, i need a few crush washers too for the oil changes. There ill get the Honda MTF and also have them clear my check engine light. But Redline 75w90 is okay for the pumpkin?

Yeah MTF all the way. I use the honda fluid in my tranny, and I use the Redline 75w90 in my diff. I havent had any problems, so you will be okay on that part.
