The only way to make your from crank to wheel power more efficient, would be to lighten the drivetrain. Light driveshaft, pulleys, flywheel, etc. now this is usually cost prohibitive, since a geared s2000 will be faster than a light drivetrain s2000, and a SC/Turbo will be even faster.

But at least gears and cam mods will have a longer engine life right?

No. gears INCREASE your RPMS all the time, if you have gears you sacrifise a lower cruising RPM for a higher pick up rate.

EG: ( and no this is not real i just made the figures up to make a point)

stock gearing accel 0-60 : 6.8 seconds
An aftermarket gearign on same S2000 0-60 : 6.1 seconds.

Stock gearing at 90mph on freeway : 3700rpm
aftermarket geared s2000 at 90mph : 4500rpm

changing the gears will make your engine do MORE RPMS and that in turn wears the engine.

im sorry but in this life NOTHING is free.

Plus if you can get an S2000, just wait for the secret compartment questions.....
oh and the:
my motor eats oil
i cant find my spare tyre.
what is this secret compartment i hear about?
how do i run this engine in.

etc etc etc.

Not to dig at you turbo 997, but EVERYTHING YOU NEED to know about the S2000, is on this forum.

and i mean EVERYTHING!

people do writeups for DIY jobs, how to change the fluid in the LSD, reccomendations.

seriously the amount of information on this site.... you could take apart and rebuild an S2000
