mantenance light flashes first few seconds

i've got roughly 12000 miles on my car...today after i started the engine, the maintenance required light flashed for about 15 seconds then went away. 3 times already. anybody know what's the deal with that?

haha out of curiosity i rated my thread with 5 stars and it worked... o.....kay...need to find something to do around here...too much free time.

Read the FAQs. It means your car thinks it's due for an oil change. Eventually it'll just stay on all the time. Read the FAQs to learn how to reset it.
