Any one out there know if all my vin # should match (including engine and tranny)?

my engine didn't match the rest of the VIN's on my MY00. haven't checked the MY05 yet.

edit: to clarify; the numbers were only off by 2.

 

This is normal I got lucky my #s mach

My '04 is off a few. This is normal and well known. Don't worry about it unless they are way off.

 

Vin numbers are assigned to each body in numerical order. If a body needs repair coming out of the paint line for instance than it will mean a change in order. The engines are made on a sperate line with Vin's in the same numerical order. If a body is off for touch up or repair than the engine goes to the next available body on the line. Hope this makes sense.
