Not sure if it's totaled or not. Every body panel is rippled to some degree but the undercarriage, running gear and suspension never got touched. I'm having a 'meet and discuss' with the adjuster Wed. morning, I'll know everything I need to after that. Being totaled would be worse case but not the end of the world. I've got a friend who's a pretty hi end body guy, I need to let him see it and make a determination, if he thinks he can fix the windshield frame then alls probably o.k. but I really don't want a braned title so if it's totaled I'll look into getting another '05.

ehem,

Straight from tirerack,

I also reconginize (sp) that tread pattern on your tires, they are DEFINATLY summer only rubber (more specifically the KDW-2's), which have horrible wet ratings, and (obviously) horrible cold weather ratings. Driving spirited in the wet, cold, winter is playing with fire on SO tires.
Yep, yous right.

Although i will say it was closer to 60 degrees out than 40, in fact it proabably was 60.

glad youre ok bro. but sad to say(kinda) the more wrecked s2k stories i read and hear how the car preformed amazingly well as far as crash worthy goes, the safer i feel in my s.

It was interesting in that before we took off, Larry, the passenger, who is just shy of 6'4" mentioned that if we go over he was on trouble as his head was above the roll bar, I'm 6'3" but my seat is a couple inches lower (we were going to do the same to the pas seat this weekend) and my head doesn't set up as high. I joked that he'd have to kiss his ankles if we did. Of course it happened so fast he didn't actually put his head between his legs (not much room there anyway), instead he leaned over toward me, his head was against the fabric/ground after the car settled but as I said neither one of us even had a sore spot on us the next day. Now getting it out, it was just the 2 of us, was quite a bit of work and we tried to do it as quickly as possible, the hill was steeeeep and we were both falling trying to get the car hooked up so it wouldn't be surprising if we were both a little more scratched up due to brush but other than the one scratch, nada.

One thing I though was pretty cool is after we got it flopped back over we were trying to figure out where to hook onto it to pull it out, only thing I could figure was the tow hook. It sure seemed insignificant in light of what we needed to do but we hooked the chain through it and it worked, it even got a little hung up on the trees and I had to steer it between them on the way up (not from inside), the tractor had all 4 wheels spinning and it held. Pretty amazing, I then unscrewed it and put it on the front to winch it onto the trailer.

I guess those stars they give it for crash rating really mean something huh??

Very amazing that it was not worse. The car definitely could have flown down the hill a lot farther and rolled badly.
Good your ok.

One mans opinion I suppose, fortunately no one else, including the 2 officers who showed up felt the same way.

Thanks for your support
