Its a scarry sound when your RPM climb from a miss-shift.

Close call, Chris! I did that once with my car on the highway (it was 5th to 4th instead of 6th), but I was able to catch it in time. Funny how it scares the living piss outta you, isn't it!? Been fine ever since then. If you do a search on "overrev," you'll find the general consensus is that the engine can withstand 10k a couple times without any problems. I think Honda got them to pop during development at around 11k!! I'm sure you'll be fine, just don't do it again!!

I mis-shifted once from 3rd back to 2nd (instead of 4th) .......i knew that rpm had over the "dash limit" for about 1 to 2 seconds ( dont knwo what rpm i got to, but pretty high for sure becoz i was doing "power shift"). After that i shifted to "neutral" immediately.......so freaking scary .

Just wonder what should we do when we mis -shift??
should i bring my car to the dealer to have a engine check ??

p.s. i mis shifted when my car was about 3000km and my car now just passed 8500 km with first service done.........everything seems ok.............

mis shifting is sooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooo

scary!

i had an open road and I was following my friend. he took off so i gunned it. i was going about 50 in third and shifting to fourth, but then suddenly i realized that i shifted into 2nd.

i dont think 50 is too bad is it? in 2nd? usually my both my friend and i downshift at around 40-45 mph

the rpm's climbed pretty high but i dont think past red

not i make sure that it is in the right gear before I let the clutch go when i am downshifting
