Misaligned Bumper Panels
Well, I'm in the market for an S2000, and was all set to put a deposit on a yellow one tomorrow, a 2006. However, I went and checked it out, and I found this:

What could have caused this? It looks like a serious mismatch, especially evident in the 2nd picture. Carfax says no accident, I was told the car was in no accident, but I'm so wary about buying one with a body panel mismatch like this.

there is a clip back there. It might be able to be adjusted and re-clip (really hard to explain) I would remove bumper and push the clip down then try to push it back.
Also there is a screw in the fender liner right. I would remove it try to push the bumper back and try to correct it.
Sorry both hard things to explain PM if you need more help

I'm not worried about fixing it, I haven't bought the car, but I don't want to buy a car that's been in an accident. The car also has a very scraped front lip, and all tires have rash on them. All these things are not very indicative of a well cared for car.

My new one looks just like that. No accident, worse when it sits in the 110 F sun.

I just checked all the photos - none of the S2000s seem to be as mis-aligned as that one. Also, the car seems to have cosmetic damage - all four wheels have varying degrees of rash, and check out the front lip:

Do all S2000s have that much wear on the lip? This car that I'm looking at only has 5K miles.

The other side of the vehicle was perfectly fine, I don't see why one side should be different. And I've never heard of heat distorting body panels.
