Default Mobil 1 grade and filter ?s

I am going to use Mobil 1 this time. Which grade should I buy? I live in Georgia where it's not too cold (at least yet).

Which filter should I buy?

Will the dealer do the oil change for me if I bring them just the oil (or the oil and the filter)? How much should I expect to pay if they only provide the filter and/or labor?

Usually the dealer won't put in oil you bring in or any other parts that they don't supply for liability reasons. Be careful if you're switching from a non synthetic formula to a synthetic (usually better to go the other way) as a syn grade is thinner even if the weight is the same and might not seal as well as your previous oil, plus you would have to do an oil flush.

I've been using 5W30 Mobil 1 synthetic in mine since it was new and will probably switch up to 10w30 once I pass 50k miles or so. The engine runs real smooth and compression is excellent. I'm in georgia as well and it's safe to run 10w30 all year long. I wouldn't worry about switching out in the winter and summer as the temperature doesn't change enough to matter.

As for the filter, I wouldn't use anything other than the OEM honda filter. There have been instances where aftermarket filters have backed off and people have blown their engines. Even the high dollar Mobil one filters have been known to do this. Most everybody that you ask will tell you to use the stock oil filter.

use the oem PCX filter.
monitor your oil consumption more frequently when you switch to synthetic

I'm in Georgia too and use Mobil 1 10W-30. It's not that cold here and the extra protection for those long traffic jams is worth it.

That has never been my experience. Actually the Toyota dealer changed the oil in my truck after I specifically asked them not to do so. They drove out to Autozone to get 7 qts of Mobil1 and a Mobil1 filter for my Tundra after I complained.

As far as the S, I always bring my own fluids to the dealership - no problems.
