How would you rate the synthetics by Amsoil and Redline (for NA engine)? I've been researching/reading Road Rage threads and others and it seems that Amsoil or Redline rates the highest for the S2K. Any thoughts?

Very cool - I'll be interested when I get nearer 10K miles, or is it OK to do it after the first oil change? If I recall correctly, most people advise waiting until at least 10K, right?

Is it better to buy through you or locally? I'd love to support a member if it makes financial sense (i.e. do shipping costs nullify savings if buying through you). Thanks!

I run Dino oil, why?

S2ks burn oil and synthetic burns alot easier then non-synthetic (makes for less gunk build-up if your burning less oil).
I religiously change my oil every 2500-3000 miles.
The only advantage you can get out of synthetic oil is its heat tolernace/extended life. On this note I can see synthetic being a better option for a turbocharged s2k.

In the end my oil is half the cost, barely gets 'burned-up' by the engine, and works just as good in my near-stock engine.

If I were to run synthetic I would atleast go with a fluid better then mobil1.
So if your not going to run synthetic oil. What do you Non-Synthetic guys run for oil>?

As for the clutch question... No direct use w/ those brands on a s2000 but I had a ACT flywheel and clutch on my b16 and they performed flawlessly, my friend had an excedy on his prelude and had problems with it(chatter, slipping, and poor engagement) up until he sold the car so I would say got with the ACT. BTW Mobile 1 synth FTW.

not to take this thread any more off topic but chatter and slipping/poor engagement are two different fields of operation. Its usually one of the other but never both.

i hear alot of people say s2k burns oil and what not.. i had my s2k for 4 months now has 5300 miles just did 1st oil change.. i drive 24miles to werk and 24miles back home.. i drive hard every once in a while.. and cruise around 80mph to werk.. and done 140 and over 100s few times.. all this before 1st oil change. checked fluids.. and still just a pinch away from full.. or top line/mark..

just did oil change and switched to moble 1 10-30.. will see if it burns faster. or no change..
