when i worked at mobil i had to take a oil class they told about there oil..amsoil and royal purple are made by mobil.i know amsoil and mobil are the same but royale purple has some kind of diff addtive.

 

I think people that picky see ghosts too. I use supermarket brand oil in my beater and mobil 1 in the honda, they both work for their intended purpose, Lubrication....there are ups and downs to conventional and synthetic...

 

Mobil gave you false information. Mobil does not make Amsoil and Royal Purple oil. Mobil used to supply basestocks to Amsoil and Lubrizol supply the additives. Amsoil and Royal Purple are blending companies.

 

is there a reason why everyone is suggesting 10w30? i don't know crud about oils, but my friend has an auto shop and he does my oil changes for me. he changed my ap1 with 5w30 and i have no idea what the difference is.
