Mine fit fine. Maybe you have the incorrect size?

i just popped my hood and on the battery it says "Part Number. 27952" and "Model Number. YEL51R

hmm.. so on the receipt it says OPTIMA, YELLOW GRP 51...but on the battery it has an R after 51...

does anyone know if the R at the end means a different battery? thanks

i just went up to SEARS and they adjusted the battery...now my hood has no more gap...i told them repeadiitly that i thought the YEL51R would be diffrent then the YEL51....but they told me this is the right one for the car...im still unsure about this and would it cause damage if the wrong battery is in my s2k...it cranks fine and i dont seem to lose power or anything...so if anyone knows bout this please let me know...thanks

The R means it has reversed posts (i.e. the pos and neg terminals are switched) when compared to a normal battery.
