Modifying the s2000...
Just realized today the MY05 clutch is quite the weakling..
BTW, if I change the clutch, that voids the warranty for the drivetrain?
But I believe the warranty doesn't cover the clutch?... so I'm wondering how this works.. I may just need to roll by my dealership tomorrow...

From my experience, I think it depends on the dealer.
I've had an axle broke on my old R32, and the dealer honored the warranty even when I had an aftermarket suspension.
The service department manager owned an R32 as well, so I guess I got lucky.

Hm..
the guy I signed up the warranty deal with told me what the warranty excluded.. I remember one of them was the tires (of course) but can't seem to remember the rest

There's the perfect world and there's the real world.
The soft top is not a mechanical modification. It would be hard for the dealer to prove foul play.
Anything mechanical...they could really turn the screws and make it difficult for you to collect free parts and service.
You play, you pay. If you're mechanically inclined, get your money back. If you're not, keep the warranty.
Every time this subject comes up, someone brings up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975.
When is the last time you used that?

iv used it a few times. on my other car (had an aftermarket turbo and suspension) slave cylinder went out. i took it in. explained to him that there is no way my mods could have caused this and if they did, explain how...i wasnt a dick or rude. slave cylinder was fixed under warrenty.
i dont believe wear and tear parts like brakes, tires and clutches are covered.
obviously if someone goes to a dealershit with an aftermarket turbo and there is a rod sticking out of the block, the dealer wouldnt cover it. or if the motor is hydro locked and you have an aftermarket intake. you would have a hard time getting the motor replaced.
they have to prove the mod you made caused the problem.
thats basic warrenty, as far as extened i have no idea. negcamber seems to have the info.
iv honestly only heard (this is local) of people have warrenty problems with the subie and mitsu dealer when they come in with drivetrain problems on their evo/sti
Yeah.. about that.
Consumable weren't covered, thats right thats right..
Wondering if I can get the clutch disc replaced due to the CDV and see what they can do about that.
I also saw there are paint on the bolts so if I turn it, it's going to show that i've messed with em.
shatty.
