Mom doesn't agree with the s2000.

I am not sure this kid is for real. If he is, I would have to now side with the mom. An automatic Hyundai is more appropriate.
You don't know how to drive a manual and you want the S to be your first car?? I think you need to consider other modes of transportation that involve an automatic transmission, about 93hp, 1xx,xxx miles, and an evergreen airfresher. I think your mom is right on this one.

Stupid to you maybe but he's young. He lives with his parents. They are putting in some of the money. They have a say. Simple as that. Live with parent, follow parent's rules.
I don't think mothers ever change. When I got my first car my mom didn't want me getting a ragtop, because she felt they were dangerous. To this day, everytime she finds out we've gotten a new car, the first thing she wants to know is whether or not it's a convertible. I've been driving convertibles for over 40 years now, and she still worries about it because she feels that they're unsafe.
Fortunately, I never had situations like this one, where my mom wanted one thing, and my dad wanted something else. How would this be working out if it was a matter of their daughter dating some guy who the dad liked, but the mother distrusted or feared? Being a parent is hard enough without being half of a parenting team that can't agree on important issues.
I feel sorry for kids that get this kind of mixed signals.
You really want this S eh? Well here is how you convince mom. None of the above responses will get you this car immediately like this one will.
Set up: Let mom know if you don't get an S it would affect your manhood in every possible way. Tell her a car is like a male peacock's plumage...necessary for picking up the ladies. IF you are denied this you might as well go gay. See what her response is.
If its still negative....buy some gay magazines and leave them strewn about out in the open in your room for her to see. Obviously, when she goes to make your bed or fold up your clothes...she will not be able to miss this.
If that doesn't work....the next step is to get literature on transgender surgery. If that doesn't clinch the S....I don't know what will.
