There is also a second floor mat stud on the driver's side. I noticed that when I was testing to see if my 1 piece muz floor mat would still fit in the '02. (I was just trying it out )

Thicker rubber gasket on trunk lid, compared to 01. Seems to seal more tightly and completely. Small change, but noticeable when closing the trunk...also chrome internal rings around tail lamps.

Bob, you may be right. Maybe some owners had a problem with water intrusion into the trunk. On second thought, if the problem wasn't posted here there must not be one. My guess is that it's a different supplier using a slightly different material. Your right in that the trunk requires a bit more effort to close.

I'll have to admit that compared to the '01, the '02 drives MUCH smoother.

I just compared my '02 to a friend's '01 last night. Yes, the AC comes on and cannot be turned off in either defrost mode. I personally don't like the idea of putting extra strain on the engine running the A/C compressor when the engine is butt-cold.

Bits and pieces of the interior are have a different finish and as everyone prob. knows, the '02 gets a new radio/tweeter(which has more bass and more tweet), a console cover and the glass rear window. Keep in mind that the glass window is a lot smaller. If you're under ~5'6" and want to look over your right shoulder you'll see nothing but sky.

The change that almost escaped notice? The '02 "H" badges, front and rear, are about 175% of the size of the '01. More reason to take 'em off.

Its like Honda assuming you are too stupid to know that adding A/C with heat drys the air more quickly.

I prefer that the A/C function be only operator.

Another case of the manufacturers asserting that they know better than you!!!
I agree, this is outrageous. Another example where we have lost control over one of the functions of our vehicle.

My Mazda (Ford) truck behaves this way and I always figured it was for the benefit of the (mostly) ignorant Americans buying those things. I was always glad my Honda products didn't do that.

I'm a little disillusioned now....

i noticed that the tachometer was different too. low range numbers are closer spaced together vs the ones near 9K.

Ricosuave, I'm pretty sure the MY2000 has the same style spacing on the tachometer that you're talking about. What is different about the tach is the white line that connects all the numbers together

This seems to be the new logic in Hondas... My '02 CRV has the same "PROBLEM" - you cannot switch off the AC when the vents are set to point to the windshield. Since '96 or '97 MY, Hondas with ACs have had the AC automatically come on when the vents are set to the windshield but it could be manually switched off (I prefer having the manual control).
