My rears made it to 10K , I might get another 1K out of them. And yes I swapped them to maximize my mileage.
Me too. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I just replaced my orginials at around 23k miles. Front and back wore at same rate (granted the front wore more on the inside). I had about half of the wear bars left on the back. It wasn't bald, but not fun to drive if it was raining.

Along those 23k miles they have survived:
2 Track Days
1 Dragon Ball
1 Southeast Supermeet
7 spirited mountain drives at about 200-300 miles each
and a lot of highway driving.

Definitely amazing tires. They're excellent in the rain and have amazing grip on the track.

I just switched them out for Falken Azenis RT-615 and am liking those so far as well (225/45/17 - 255/40/17).

Last time I bought RE050's was November 2004. I paid Tire Rack prices at a local tire shop whos'a sponsor of our local club and walked out the door right at $1k after mounting, high speed balance, alignment, and nitrogen fill on all four.

Tire Rack has a price of $776 right now for all four tires before shipping and taxes.

I won't know for sure until a good mountain drive or track day and since winter is beginning, that won't be soon. I do know that they have much better cold grip than the RE050's did. Probably why they're rated so high for autocrossing in all the recent reviews.

wow, you guys are getting much better mileage than I expected... I only have 2500 miles on my car at this point, but after reading the owners manual I was very worried.

Honda claims that you can get 10,000 miles out of the rear tires IF you drive the car like a grandma.... BUT they also state that you should NEVER swap the tires from side to side, because re050's are Uniderectional and you are screwing up your handling by swapping them.

So basically you are screwed cause of the staggered widths and double screwed because they are uni, so if you run them in the optimal setup handling wise, you get un-even wear resulting in reduced tire life on all 4. YEE-HAW....
