MPG 100% City Driving?

Most efficient speed is definitely not 62mph. I get the best results somewhere between 80 and 90.
Vtec is what happens above 6000rpms.
When the car goes from quiet slow civic mode to super-speed racecar mode. I now suggest that you go take the lid off the airbox and take the car all the way to redline so you can REALLY hear vtec.

18 if all city, and I have a HEAVY foot. I'll shift around 4 all day, but every time I start the car, I must vtec once. minimum.

Pheww....so I guess I'm getting the normal amount. I pretty much always get 18 mpg and I vtec a lot. But I keep hearing people getting muh more like GPWhiteS2kFTW just said he got about 24-26 mpg all city and I find that very hard to believe.

I get 100 miles a tank with city only driving. Highway/mixed I get around 160 if I'm lucky. Oh, and I only enter VTEC maybe once every other day.
How do you think I can improve my gas mileage besides with factors not relating to how I drive? I've cleaned out the air filter and just checked my tire pressure. Anything else that can be done? I need to clean out the cabin filter but I rarely use the A/C so that shouldn't effect anything right?

I have an 04 AP2 with about 53k on the odometer. My commute is about 4 - 5 miles. In a week, I'll use about a quarter tank if its just to work and back. Funny thing about these cars is you use a large amount of gas when you turn the car on in the mornings because the ECU enriches the fuel flow to warm the engine. Same as to when the car's been off for a length of time.
As far as my tank. Week day driving (subtle shifting at 3... yes, 3k) and Weekend driving (practicality goes out the window), I'll usually get 250 to 280 on a full tank. Thats city. On a highway winter trip to Ohio from Georgia, I topped out at 382. Before pulling up to the gas station, the car started to studder... that was bone dry. (don't try this at home).
