Default Mr. HYDE

I got my '02 Spa a few weeks ago and I would like to share with you what has happened to me.

I'm 54 and, over the years have owned VW bugs, a LeMans, a Datsun 210, a minivan, and a Camry, among others. I always wanted, but never had a sports car. The only thing close was a Fiat coupe based on the Spyder which was a total disaster (but that's another story).

While I used to drive somewhat aggressively when I was a kid, I turned into a "mature" driver.

Well, screw that! Last night I was on a long two lane highway straight away and found myself doing 105 in 4th gear with an incredible smile from ear to ear. And, I've been seeking out twisties. And, I have become very impatient with "mere mortal" cars doing the speed limit or less in front of me.

I'm scared! I can't stay at the speed limit. I am obsessed with figuring out how to break free the rear end of my wonderful SpaLady. I'm even thinking of going to the track I LOVE VTEC!!! I find every excuse to drive somewhere, usually fast.

My girlfriend is close to peeing in the passentger seat at least once a day. She loves the car but is not used to flying around turns and going over 100 mph. All I do is giggle as we whip around turns!

What the Hell has happened to me? Am I on the road to Hell? Is this normal? What do you other "middle-aged" guys say about this? Should I turn myself into the closest mental ward? Is this "normal"

God, I love my car! HELP!!

glad that you love your s2000.

Marc, I know where you're coming from. I got my S after 11 years of driving a Saturn SC...you might say it's a step up.

Every weekend I get up at sunrise, whip off the car cover, and go blasting around the twisties of Central Maryland, so we may just meet up! Enjoy your ride.

V for VTEC, baby!

It sounds like fun to me! I'm 50 and a mature driver waiting for my blue S2 to come into Chicago so my wife and I can drive it home to Denver.(can't wait to break it in so she can pee her pants too) I just hope the spa color isn't noticed by the cops. Good luck in your middle age crazies. Dan
