Hi Everyone.

I installed my headers on tuesday, and ran into a problem. The holes on the engine side were not completely drilled through with what looked to be a convex shape in each. Almost like a button. The options were drill the hole through all the way or re-install the stock header return the mugens then re-install at a later date. I chose the former because of the shops machine shop, and history. The rest went smoothly and the upgrade performs better than ever. However, what bugs me is thatvwhen I called king motorsports they seemed to really doubt me, and all but called me a liar. Maybe they'rre parts are all great and they've never had a defect before. But it really made me feel bad about going with mugen at all. I work really hard to put parts on my car, and just wanted to let them know there may be problems with thier other headers. I spent 3000 dollars there, and I guess I just wanted to hear "wow I'm sorry that you had a problem, what can we do?" Instead of "it's really hard to believe, since they check each one individually" I spoke to scot and he seemed just as doubting. I decided to go back to the shop and get the "scraps" that were leftover from the drill. Maybe that will help out with the problem. Anyway, just a rant on what appears to be my general bad luck with parts.

Do you mean the exhaust ports had material narrowing the ports, or that the holes for the bolts to hold the header were not drilled through? Thanks, I am not quite understanding and wonder if I missed anything prior to installing mine.

I can vouch for Viscreal. I was at the shop when they installed the headers. It's such a bad thing knowing that a $1,200+ Mugen header doesn't fit. It is really dissappointing to hear that King Motersports doesn't believe. Oh well. Latez!

The holes holding the header to the engine were not fully drilled pressed or whatever they do to make the hole. I would guess though that the problem must've been somewhere in the manufacturing process and accidentally slipped through. The reason I say this is that even though they were not drilled through whatever was in each hole was uniform with the next.
UPDATE-
I feel much better now. Scot has e-mailed me and has restored my faith in Mugen. I guess he is as concerned as I am that there was a problem, and apoligized for this as well. They have check all they're headers and found no more with this problem. They will contact Japan and check there as well. Anyway, I'm glad to see my dollars are justified in a product and company like King Motorsprts. -m
