Default Mugen or J's Racing?

I just bought an Amuse Dual Extra Titan muffler the other day (coming in late Jan ), and my next plan is to change the air box, and then the header.

I'm debating whether to buy the Mugen Air Intake/Box or J's Racing Tsuchinoko Air Intake Box.
I'll have to cut out the hood for either one (no, I'm not gonna get the carbon hood. At least not yet...) J's does have the Tsuchinoko chamber, so does have larger volume...

Anyone have performance comparison data between the two?

either one is good. i'm not feeling the the round part from J's.

either one you'll have to cut your bumper to make the air flow. without that hole i don't think your intake will work.

I think the J's has a better design than the Mugen. The large "bulge" isn't there for just looks, it acts like a Hemholtz generator, shifting the frequency of the pressure waves, in an attempt to get more airflow.

if you have the mugen SS bumper, i would go with the mugen intake (Version 2). if not, ram air is block by the OEM bumper. mugen intake Version 1 is discontinued.

J's racing have a snorkle system that goes to the bottom of the grille (Version 1)for ram air and also the new shorter snorkle (Version 2) made for the new J's racing bumper.

i went with J's racing (Version 1)...

I believe J's Racing now has a Ver 2 intake as well

So most people recommend J's. It does have the Tsuchinoko chamber, so it probably does perform better. And its actually less expensive....

In regards to the hole in the bumper, I do have Top Secret's full bumper (which I haven't installed yet) This does have a larger duct opening, but it doesn't have a hole in the front right side like the MUGEN bumper. Do you really need that hole though?

Either way, I think I'm gonna go with the J's

A warning to you, I have J's intake and the Top Secret Bumper, they DO NOT fit perfectly. The openning is about 2-3 inches off from where it would fit perfect. When the body shop installed my bumper they jsut shoved the intake in. I took the bumper off when i got the car back and made a small cut so the intake would fit better. I will post pictures of what I mean.
