I don't think the question about whether you are a "pussy" or not is the right question. Isn't this more an issue about whether you control your car or do you relinquish that control to the random collection of other drivers that you encounter. Responsible driving is all about control. Most fools can learn the mechanical aspects of street racing, but a superior driver must be equally adept at controlling their own behavior. I think the real question was, who controlled your car ... and your response was the answer.

It always happens to me on the Interstate, so the opportunity to be nice isn't there.

What stirkes me as funny is when I had my S2000 in closer-to-stock form it happened almost everyday. As soon as the hardtop and Mugen hood went on it never happened again.

Same with the M3. When it was stock, everybody and their mother. As soon as I lowered it and put the wheels on, nobody.

When I'm test driving a Cayman (been doing it almost daily ) people try to race. New car, not broken-in, dealer tag........don't ask me what these guys are thinking ........maybe they think it isn't my car, so I'm going to get crazy. We'll see what happens when I have my tags on one
All the kids in the area have heard about CCR and the CCR cars, so even when they don't know me they see the CCR banners all over the car and assume that they're looking at a car with almost mythical performance. (It's a misconception, but rumors and the imagination of kids has things blown all out of proportion.)

Most of the kids have more interest in looking under the hood of a CCR car and meeting someone from CCR than they have in racing,a and most of the time when someone does challenge me on the street it is just because they want to see the car in action, not because they think their car is faster (even though it might be). Nine times out of ten the guys who rev at me at redlights or try to get me to race on the interstate have gray hair.

There are exceptions, but most of the kids who have modified cars are actually just young car nuts that do things a little differently than we did when we were kids. LOL, I do things differently now too. Maybe it's only because they respect CCR, but in my experience most of the kids that street race aren't that different from the kids I street raced with back in the 60's, and I guess I see them as a big part of the future of motorsports.

Hey RedMX5, I've heard of CCR. There were a bunch of them running in SM2 at a Middle Georgia Autocross last year. I was one of the drivers in the black MR2 that ran with them.

If you don't want to race then just ignore idiots like that when you run into them. Its not like you are driving a ferrari where people want to run you for the hell of it. BTW, you can also get a turbo for your car, as soon as it spools on my car they don't want to race anymore.

Yes you are a pussy but you are what you eat. Actually the other guy was just being a jerk......

If I was a jerk who owned a slow car which always lost to the S and then I spent lots of $$$ making it faster I'd do the same thing....

Resist the temptation. It's hard but possible. The S is my slow car so its all good.
