MX-5 vs. S2000?

I'll chime in here also,
I obviously own an S2000, 2001 actually and have driven(not on a track) 3 different model year miatas
one was a mid/late 90's and the other two if i remember correctly were 02ish cars
I cannot fit in a miata, my head hits the roof for one, so that was a big turnoff for me. the miata was fun, i'll give it that, but it just didn't have the feel that the S has for me. granted i drove the miatas 4+ years before i ever stepped foot in an S2K but you get the idea
i will say that i enjoyed the miata, it was a fun little car to flog around some corners, but i'm pretty sure if i drove them both back to back i'd pick the S2K everytime

Look at the last 20 years and all the awards the accord has won the civic has won the crv has won...etc the list goes on and not to mention sales. mazda is at the bottom behind nissan, honda and toyota. Mazda has to look up to honda to see if there cars are up to par.
In fact, the s2k would not exist, at all, if not for the miata.

I just watched the family guy episode where Peter goes to a AA meeting and it was confirmed the Miata isnt even a sports car.
Dude: One fateful night, I got behind the wheel of my brand new sports car, blind drunk. I was responsible for the death of an innocent eight yr old girl.
Peter: What kind?
Dude: What?
Peter: What kind? What kind of car? You said you had a sports car? Thats cool, but what kind?
Dude: It was a Miata.
Peter: Oh come on, thats not a sports car! How does that even kill a kid? What did you hit her over the head with it?

As a Miata and S2000 owner it is interesting to see these types of thread on both S2000 and Miata forums. They usually end up like this
That being said, I am man enough to drive my Miata without worrying what other people think. What I wonder however is if most S2000 owners feel that their car is so much more masuline, what do they think when most casual/non-car people out there(read women) think that your car is a Miata?
