MY 00 & 01 clutch buzz
yo, i'm planning to buy a 00-03 s2k in the next month or so and i was wondering is it expensive to fix the clutch buzzing problem on the s2k? and does is this problem effect all & only MY 00 and 01?
All you need is a new (non OEM) clutch. So, depending on where you buy the clutch, and who installs it, it could cost anywhere from 700-1200 dollars. An upgraded clutch really improves the feeling of the car though - it's a worthwhile mod.
A lot of people here like the Competition brand clutches. Look into the stage 2.

When the buzz in my '00 got so bad I no longer enjoyed driving the car (at 35k miles), I replaced just the disk. With grease and a couple of incidentals, I think I spent $125-$150. I could have used some more help getting the transmission back up to the engine, but otherwise it wasn't too bad a job.
I'm thinking of having that done in the future. The decel noise is almost embarrassing when I am getting near a stop sign! I might just have someone do the clutch but I might want to try to do it myself. I was thinking of replacing the pressure plate, disc, and whatever else is associated with it so I don't have to touch it for awhile.
