Default Options for fixing clutch fork rattle?

Somewhat new to my s2k. I replaced the clutch shortly after I had bought the car. I didn't catch the part about inspecting thr clutch fork and now im stuck with a god awful rattle anything below 4k. I know the only way to correctly fix it is to pull the tranny and buy a new fork, but is there any "backwoods" method i could do to lessen/eliminate the rattle? Ive tried putting a good amount of grease on it.. Which last about 10 miles and it starts rattling again.

If its worn, it'll rattle. Not really a common S2k thing, so explains why previous poster never heard of checking it as part of clutch. But if his is worn...

Yup. I'm not sure if you can just pull the tranny back from engine enough, to replace the fork.

If the noise only comes 4k or below when you lift off the throttle then you are really dealing the the famous clutch buzz.

It should be easy enough to determine if fork is worn. Remove slave, reach in, and feel if there play in fork.

The idea to just slide trans back, but not remove it is interesting. I wonder if it would work.

It would save a lot of work, not having to lower subframe, etc. You can get to top trans bolts from engine bay. You might not have to fully remove those top trans bolts, just loosen them most of the way, so trans can slide back.

The trans can't be dropped without lowering subframe, but it can slide back. The question is if it can slide back far enough to remove fork.

Replace the clutch fork. It isn't expensive.

But its a whole lot of labor. So you wanna really make sure that is the issue before pulling that trigger...

I know for a fact the fork is the issue. like I said when I put a bunch of grease on it, it was quiet for a few miles. Its a constant rattle when holding steady throttle...it sounds like complete sh!t..pretty embarrassing to drive it like this.
