I disagree with above. Yes if it's 10hp in just a narrow part of the band then it doesn't matter, but if it's 10hp across the band, you will definitely notice a difference...in fact doesn't MY04 have 10hp more across the band than the MY00-03's? And i definitely notice the difference

The wider power range is the reason MY04's are turning better numbers on auto-crosses, and also have been re-classed this year. Or I suppose the drivers and the tech inspectors have it all wrong?

One cannot dyno hot off the street and compare it to people who have practically carried their cars to the shop. UL has clarified this issue more than anyone could care to guess.

Perhaps, but to date no one has managed to duplicate his numbers.

I dyno'd my 01 with 36000 Miles on it with PRM intake and Invidia Exhausht.. I put down 214.1 HP and I don't remember the Tq numbers off the top off my head.

Another question, does it matter what gear they do it in? My runs were in 3rd gear both times.

Let's put it this way, when I had my Integra GSR dynoed, they did a run where they forgot to put the fan on or let it cool down, and it showed 8whp less.

I don't know what the difference would be for an S2000 though. But having no fan would definetly not give an accurate reading, and is also bad for the car. I would never take my car there ever again.

^ sounds reasonable...I can imagine courses where the MY04 would require an additional shift or would fall out of the power band in corner exits .....but same goes for MY00-03's as well.....the world may never know...

are all these dynos done on the same dyno?

if not then i gonna refer to the june 2003 issue of TURBO magazine
"Dynos Lie"
page 54

they did multiple dynos on 6 different dynos
and tried to simulate the same situations (although its hard to keep the variables down) and came up with a great a difference as 30 hp and 18 trq.

i donno just saw this thread and remembered having the mag
