Default my '06 trade for an '05?

I found a perfect/pristine '05 silverstone S..19K miles...its perfect!

My '06..rio yellow..75K miles...seats have tears..some front end rock chips..
bad tires..stress area top tear..headlights are looking not so good..

the dealershoip wants my car and $5000.

I love the silver! the car is perfect! while I love my S I never
really loved the yellow..just tolerated it 'cause my car is so awesome!

Any opinions?
Of course I like the '05 wheels much more than the '06..but I'm giving
up VSA..the better front facia and the spoiler on my '06..I'm torn!

I actually specifically sought out a 2005 instead of an 06+ when I purchased my AP2, I like the lack of VSA, the 04-05 wheels, the older design seats with the hole and having an actual throttle cable. Drive by wire is the biggest killer of the 06+'s to me, the car doesn't feel terribly different but I genuinely like the feel of my foot being mechanically connected to the car in the 05's and earlier.

No more DBW, no more VSA, I like my seats and interior accents better though. 19k miles is low...but I'd counter with $2500.

It sounds like you really want the '05. If you want it and can afford it, why not? IMHO it's a better car anyway because of the DBW issue discussed above. Don't really care about VSA. I too wanted an '04 or '05 when I was looking.

If the car is good as you say id take the deal. Your getting a almost new S and 19k miles is like nothing on this car. And im with Forth on the VSA and Drive by wire. I dont think the front and the spoiler is that big of a deal killer to me. I would jump on this

So you're spending more money (multiple thousands), losing features (VSA; which you can turn off), losing body parts (Front/Rear spoiler), and losing a semi-open ecu? Sounds like a smart trade.

...with substantially lower mileage, better condition in every way, and ditching DBW which is terrible on any car.

DBW on the S2000 is not sourced from a Civic though. People make a big deal out of something that I would challenge most anyone to discern in a blind test.

I'd miss the Flashpro capabilities, but if you're not into tuning/modding then you're getting a far better color and it sounds like better condition plus a fraction of the miles.

The 06 needs ~$2500 in tires and a top. So really he's paying $2500 for a car that is 1 year older and has 50k fewer miles. I'd seriously consider it and I'm a fan of VSA.
