Ahhhhhh. Had a tough week ... my chick and I split (on good terms), had a tough hockey game on saturday (spent a couple shifts on my posterior), worked both days this weekend in the lab ... and then took a drive............................. All better.
My boss ( '02 Suzuka) and I took our rigs out for a drive in east county San Diego, and oh what a time we had. Driving some great mtn roads, then stopping at some herb (not that kind) garden and coffee place for some java in Lakeside, CA. We parked our cars in line (see picture) and sipped coffee on a beautiful SoCal day, and were approached by no less than 10 people over the course of 20 minutes. Here were some actual quotes:
'do those hondas belong to you guys, wow they are beautiful cars.'
'ive heard about those hondas ... are they as great as they say?'
'those hondas are one hell of a deal! can you fit clubs in the trunk'
'that interior looks like it's all business'
'oh, i like those much better than those porsches [boxster], you see those everywhere'
and my favorite:
'let them run you over, maybe you'll get the cars in the settlement!'
!!!!!! and that was from a pair of 40-50 year old ladies.
As we left, we were surrounded by a small group, and heard several people make other comments, but couldn't hear them clearly. This was honestly the first time in my 5 months of ownership having an experience anything like this (i live in La Jolla, so the Ferraris usually take the cake), and it definately capped off an already wonderful 'sasha' day. I love my car - and I think she loves me back!
OK, well -- knocking me off that pedestal was a 20 year old kid who commented how much he liked my miata. I didn't care for that ... but then again, miata ain't bad either i suppose!
