That really sucks. Someone almost rear ended me this morning on my way to work. I was heated.

Call up U-Haul rentals in the area to see if any were returned damaged.

The worst part of the damage is the rear quarter panel (behind the door). New pieces of steel will need to be put in and the old will need to be cut out.
Cutting of the body is the worst thing that can happen to a car. Sorry to say, but the body/structure will never be as good as it was.
Make sure you use a reputable body shop and make sure they use OEM new qtr panel replacements. Its the best thing you can do right now. Aftermarket, used or poorly installed new parts will be trouble in the future (ie. corrosion, rust, squeaks, body creak, waterleak etc)...good luck

Whatever you learn from U Haul, remember to report it to the police also. Hopefully this will result in criminal charges for leaving the scene of an accident.

First of all, be glad you're OK. I think that's foremost. The S2000 is a tough little car.

That said, your damage looks serious, and will be expensive. If you haven't reported to your insurance company do so right away. Police too, since you had a hit and run.

I agree witht he other folks about checking with the U-Haul places. I don't know if they're under any obligation to help you, though. Likely, they will make an insurance claim, and hopefully the police will put 2 and 2 together (though I wouldn't count on it)

This summer I had a car behind me that was weaving all over the place...gettin' right on my rear...backing off. Just like they were drunk. 8am in the morning too. I was afraid to even slow down for corners for fear of getting rear ended. Finally I found a place where I was able to pull completly off the road without slowing and let them by...5 minutes later I watch them smash into the back of the car that had previously been in front of me.
