Did you get the police there and file a report for this hit and run?
If you didn't you may be out of luck. Did you? Say a u-haul comes in needing repair. From the damage to your car, the u-haul might have had paint scrapped off it's bumper. They're pretty tough. Even then, without a police report, I suspect they can weasel out of it unless you have some decent witnesses. It's not really u-haul's responsibilty anyway, it's the driver and his insurance.

I'd call the police now if you haven't and report this. Tell them you were too shook up before and you didn't think of it.

I don't think the damage looks too bad. It's not really structural so, I don't think it'll affect the strengh of the chassis. New doors, some sheet metal and wheels plus a check of the suspension and you should be OK. I'd guess somewhere in the $5000-8000 range for repair.

The 1st thing i did was call the police. Today i went to the shell gas staion that the U haul truck pulled out off. Tommarrow i have to call the police so they can and go look at the video. And i called U haul today. And they said in 2 days they will give us a answer. I was wondering do they cover all the Rims or just that rim? And I got some lil scraches on the back of the bumper from rocks hiting it... Do you think my Insurance will give me Crap?

Thanks Andy

I haven't been through a hit and run before but shouldn't you call your insurance up and have them do some footwork for you? I figure they would rather hound U-haul about getting the other driver's info then pay out of their own pockets for a hit and run.

Looks like you did all the right things with the police and all.

Telling the insurance is a good idea. Report it to them now. Be happy if they fix you car with minimal hassle. I'm not sure I'd push it and try to get them to fix non-accident related stuff.

it's bad, but unfortunately not bad enough to get the car totaled IMO

If the U Haul pulled out of the gas station, wouldn't a camera have picked up the license plates of the truck? Better yet, if they used a credit card there, it'd be easy for the police to find out who paid for that gas. Hope that helps and works out for you. This would be a nightmare for me.

Damn.. hate to see anyone get in any type of accidents, but at least your still alive thats good

I believe you can sue him 5g max w/o a lawyer of your own. And since its a hit and run its also a felony charge as well that goes along w/ it. Same thing happened to me few years ago and cop said they'll try to track it down.... yrs later nothing happen :/. so its better if you start the work yourself if you can. best person to rely on is yourself.

im surprise no one stop and help you or at least saw the accident and would have given you the plate # of the Uhaul ... thought thats kinda odd..

good luck w/ everything
