My favorite part of this season is when all the "will it drive ok in the snow" posts

It does just fine with good snow tires. It does better than some SUVs, if you drive it carefully.
This is mostly due to SUVs staying on All Seasons year-round.

While you don't "need" snow tires... you also don't "need" airbags and seat belts.

I love snow tires. The comparison between all seasons vs. snow tires in snow is similar to all seasons vs. R-compounds on track.

Snow tires are awesome on this car. I bought a set of Dunlop WinterSport M3s on AP1 wheels, and I've driven on highways where the divider was littered with SUVs that had gone off the road.

Of course, most SUV drivers seem to think that the laws of physics have been suspended because they have 4WD.

You have to get snow tires unless you want to get stuck at some point.

The only situation in which snow tires will let you down is: uphill, complete stop, on a sheet of ice. Then you're screwed and you'll probably have to back up and go a different route.

You might want to consider garaging it. Mine is garaged from mid November to approx March (live in Colorado up in the Rockies). It's worth considering and you can bring it out when conditions are good (sadly not often for me)
