usually its the case that it only really snows badly for a few weeks here and there throughout winter. even on the snowy days once you make it out of the side roads to the main roads they are generally clear of snow and just wet/gritty.
That's how it is here. Most of my winter driving is on clear roads in below freezing temps. I put Dunlop M3s on last year and they were great. They did fine in the snow and were not squirrly or obnoxious on dry roads. I drove them aggressively in the dry and they did fine and didn't show signs of excessive wear. I wasn't in any hurry to take them off in the spring and left them on until it was above 40F in the mornings.

wat snow tire sizes to get for ap1 rims?
mine are OEM sizes. you'll hear people say to size down so the tires 'cut' through the snow and hit the road better but because of the minimal ground clearance that probably isn't the best idea.

I live close to you in Culpeper County, VA. How long have you lived in this area? It's a strange year when we get more than 18" of snow all winter and usually no more than 6-8" as the highest snowfall we get. Basically on average there are perhaps 5-7 days per winter in this part of Virginia that the roads are ice or snow covered. My advice to you is to not drive your S2000 on those days. Buy a $1,000 beater car that runs to get to work on those days. Even with snow tires, another idiot may spin out on the ice and total your car (had that happen to a friend).

But...if you can't have a beater and have to drive in the snow/ice with your S2000...snow tires are a MUST! I have Dunlop snow tires on my extra set of AP1's. I put them on after Christmas but I only drive the S2000 maybe once a week from January till March.

Snow tires do more than grip well in snow/ice. They also keep dry traction better when it's 20 degrees out and your tires are well below freezing. Frozen all season tires are like ice skates on frozen pavement even if there is no ice or snow present.

I stick with OEM size. In my mind, regardless if it is a placebo or not, having the stock size keeps the car more predictable (and it is VERY predictable in the snow, surprisingly).

I have blizzaks on ap1s and i feel so much confident on the road during winter.

HUGH difference compared to all-season tires. if your s2k is dd, then i strongly recommend you getting snow tires during winter.
Totally agree. Blizzaks compared to the BFG AS i had is no contest.
