In 1972 when I was 16 years old I worked two jobs all summer so that I could buy my first car. I didn't get the Triumph GT6 that I really wanted but I ended up with a very nice 69 Mustang Grande with a 351 and sharp looking wide chrome reverse wheels. That Halloween I was out cruising around in a farming area when it just quit and wouldn't restart. The timing chain had broken. I walked up to the closest farmhouse and as luck would have it one of my friends from school lived there. I called my Father to come get me and we discussed the dangers of leaving a nice car on the side of the road all night Halloween. The Farmer told his son to go get the big John Deere and tow it to the yard.
We got the car hooked up and my friend started towing me towards the house. His Dad was walking along beside the car and said "I'm gonna go up there and pull that boy's tail and tell him which way to turn." With that he ran up to this BIG John Deere tractor, grabbed the rear fender and tried to climb up on the tractor. His foot slipped and he fell under the back wheel. My friend got the tractor stopped but he was already on top of his father. The only way off was to either go forward over his Dad's stomach and chest or to back off his pelvis, hip, and legs. No real choice he had to back up. My friends Dad lived somehow survived. He had a number of broken bones, a crushed pelvis, and his bladder was punctured. He spent many months' recovering and eventually was able to walk with the aid of a walker.
I've never passed a Halloween without thinking many times of this good deed gone bad. Somehow I've never cared for Halloween since either.
Yes Siper this should be in OT. What's OT now?
