Not a pointless mod. it works damn well, has straighter air flow, the filter flows better, after I heat wrap it I should have good gains. I can already tell a huge difference in throttle response and power.

I did not take the box off either. Gas mileage is actually higher.

I used hondabond as the sealant

This same mod is very common on the S2KCA site. its been done by everybody that still has a stock airbox.

looks nice. same idea i had but i want to make a fiberglass pipe that expands as it reaches the air box like the stock pipe. say 2-3/4" at the tb, 4-5 inches at the box so the air picks up some velocity. with an aem dry flow filter and a j's racing $norkel

Wouldn't that pipe get hotter and stay hotter than the rubber one? It looks good though
