Cool My new (used) s2000!

I just got at auction a 2001 s2000 with 46k miles.

What maintanece should be done?

I know I need to change the engine oil/filter and gear box fluid, but I don't know the capacities or the type.

Also, it has a slight vibration in the front right tire. What typically would cause that?

How do you know that it's the tire and which side it's coming from?

I would suggest you buy yourself an owner's manual or if you want to go all out, a service manual. You can get either from www.helminc.com.

Oh, and don't forget the diff fluid.

I found the source of the vibration. The driver front tire rim is warped. I'm gunna buy a refurbished one from a body shop for $150.

I did pay the $70 for the service manual though, because I like to have the manual by me when I'm workin on the ride.

Also, I've noticed that my milage pretty much sucks. ~15MPG. What mostly kills milage? (I've been keeping my foot out of it too!)

Also, what is a good subsitute for the DOT3 brake fluid? Will valvoline synpower work? It says it exceeds dot 3 and 4 specs.

At what RPM does yours run at 75MPH? Mine is 4000RPM, (in 6th gear) which seems high, but i've never been in any other S2000's to know.

All kinds of things can make fuel economy bad - wrong tire pressures, leaking injectors or other type of fuel leak, dirty air filter, too high a viscosity of oil, bad gas, running in too low a gear at too high a speed, shifting at too high an rpm on a routine basis, a mod gone bad, dragging brakes, bad alignment.

Will valvoline synpower work?
I've been using this for years.

Your car is running exactly as it should (speed vs rpm). Don't worry, you've got 5000 more rpm to go.

Is there a washable air conditon filter availible for it? Replacing the stock paper one will get old fast....
