Default My oh my...Invidia

So went out tonite to grab some food @ TGIF, Its raining outside so i was driving just @ the speed limit. Finally came on a stop @ the light and noticed theres a 5-0 behind me, Light turned green, I hit the throttle shift to 2nd and next thing you know, his lights came up great what is it this time..Officer came out and asked the usual question "DO you know why I pulled you over?" ..I said "no".."well your exhaust is too loud" with an emphasis on TOO..WTF . I had this car for months now, Ive had more than a dozen cops behind me and I never got pulled over for this, i know some people here in VA with Amuse and HKS on their Stooks and never got pulled over either. ..The officer then asked me if I had intake/header etc..and I said its all stock then also asked me if i participate in any kind of racing ..Officer was a younger guy, and looks like he knows sumthing about tuning..go figure. Overall he's a nice guy (except for the part when he handed out my ticket) I keep asking the same question to him "If its loud ,How come I never got pulled over for months by dozens of police officers?"..and he's like "well some might make a big deal out of it, some might not..and well they're probably on call, thats why they didnt probably pay attention to your car "..oh BTW he was mumbling a bit

Just a few questions

1) If i get pulled over again for the same violation, will they suspend my license? ( i know it varies from state 2 state)
2.) If you have Invidia have you been pulled over before with the silencer on it?
3.) Who wants to trade their stock exhaust ?

I've never heard of such nonsense. Sorry to hear it. You got screwed, plain and simple.

You know, if you care to, you can probably contest this. I mean, where's the objective evidence to support his claim.

God, traffic cops really piss me off.

yeah cops can pretty much do what they want. i've had several cops behind me and never one pull me over. (knock on wood) even better, is when you have a semi-louder-than-stock exhaust and you're next to a harley with a 3000 decibel straight pipe, and the cop pulls YOU over for loud exhaust.

i get cops behind me ll the time and i have an apex n1 with no silencr and its loud as hell.

show up in court and ask what proof the officer had . did he meter the noise ? not likely. they need better shit to do than bother someone over their exhaust.

luckily ive never been pulled over with my invidia...if i do...ill just complain about them never giving ticket out to harleys that are 82374632874537437463 times louder than my car.

i hate cops..they can give u a ticket for whatever they feel like..

and the worst thing is, when i see cops disobeying the law themselves. just yesteday i watch a cop drive straight through a red like..about a second after it had clearly turned red....i wish i had light in the top of my car and could pull him over and write him a ticket..eehehe grr!

Is that really true? Are Harleys immune to such laws?

contrary to popular belief, it is not necessarily illegal for a police officer to "break the road laws" just because he doesn't have his lights on.

officers will get calls for silent approaches, etc, with no lights or siren, or if they are trying to catch up to a stolen car, but are waiting to turn on lights and siren til they get backup, etc.

no they are not immune. they are subject to the same exhaust requirements as cars. in fact, harleys from the factory are VERY quiet. it's the owners and dealerships that add on the straight pipes, etc.
