To bad we'll never know the exact reason for why this happen. Driven hard, then something started to leak, and finally caught on fire when he stopped.

damn.. that sucks!
very lucky you didnt put that turbo in yet though.

as for the HT, it doesnt take a lot for aluminium to melt and that looks like it was a pretty hot fire.


at least you have a excuse to buy another ;-)

Just curious, did you have one of those oversized oil filters I've read about coming loose and spilling oil on the manifold? I can see a oil fire turning into a gas fire...

the fact that you have a fire extinguisher in your trunk. damn..granted it didn't save the car, but now I think I should put one in mine just in case.
