I was bad, with 900kms or 550 miles, I hit vtec twice going up to 7500rpm. Was this bad, I just couldn't help it

Before I started out, I checked the oil and it hasn't burnt a drop since day 1.

Congrats!
Having fun driving the S? I hit VTEC for the first time at 912 KM. Couldn't help it. I can relate!
We should get together one of these fine days prior to our May 9 meet date.

Asif, thanks, yeah having fun driving the S when it is warm. I just had to take it out after work since I didn't drive it in the snow storm this morning.

I was tempted yesterday to take her into vtec and couldn't resist today. It was close enough to the 1000km mark so eh why not. I haven't burnt a drop of oil either so eh why not visit vtec land

Yeah, we should hook up on one of these warm days, would love to see the yellow with hardtop.

I VTECed at 12 miles and never looked back. 8000 miles and no problems.

I think it's keeping out of the power and high piston speeds that's important, not necessarily the VTEC solenoid engaging. I'm sure it's OK to wean the car into higher RPM. Today I probably hit 6-7K when accelerating out into traffic, but I didn't feel the VTEC "kick in" because I wasn't WOT. 300+ miles.

I finally got a chance to test drive a S2000. None of the dealers in this area had it in stock.

It was a used one, which gave me an idea of what the VTEC would do.

Daaaaaaamn....... It was cool. Luckily the dealer i was with (he was my age, 24) was cool about it.

I test drove a BMW 330ic today, there's no comparison. For 8,000 less also.

Now after 3 months on this board and still S2000-less, I envy everyone who has one right now. Wont be too long and I'll be able to drool on a S2000 that's not a picture
