Some of the very first S2000's MY00 have that from the factory. If your car is MY00 it's a posibility.
Oh yea? was that done on purpose or just a screw up? It's an early 01 btw.

well I'm not too concerned about how it happened, my only concern is getting it back the right way without it coming off.
That is exactly opposite of what I would think...
Chances are very good (virtually zero) it came from Honda that way and the original owner never had it fixed. Therefore you car as a minimum has had the badge replaced, and as a mx been involved in a crash and had the fender replaced. The later of course brings into question the quality of the repair work that was done by the body shop, and all you know now, is somebody there is not smart enough to know the difference between S2000 and 2000S.
Sounds scary to me... good luck!

True, but carfax is clean, I had it inspected in and out by a pro before I purchased it (which was freakin pricey) and he could see no signs of any damage anywhere. If it was damaged, someone did a helluva good job fixing it b/c aside from the badge, there's not a hint off anything. But ya know, maybe it was just a practical joke.... you know how they love to play "the game" ... haha. hope you get that one.

THIS HAPPEN TO ME, your shit was probably repainted....

i was backed up into, mashed my front bumper and pushed back my fenders, so it was all replaced...

when i got my car back from the body shop, one side was correct "s2000", while the other side "2000s". i took it back to the body shop and had them correct it. they told me it was that way because the (manual for replacement, or some shit, whatever body shops use) shows it one sided, so they do the same for both sides.

so much for your "pro"

It is entirely possible. When you buy the badges from Honda, the 2000 and the S are separate. However, on the paper, it looks like this 2000S. The S isn't separated. The shop is supposed to put the S first, then the 2000 after. Many think it's just one complete badge, and install it straight off the sheet, which will give you 2000S. Honest mistake, and easily fixed. You will need a new badge. I think it's about $30 from Honda.
