True, but carfax is clean

But ya know, maybe it was just a practical joke.... you know how they love to play "the game" ... haha. hope you get that one.
I have run Carfax reports on cars/trucks I knew were involved in crashes as a test, and all of them have received a "clean" report.

If it is a game play that would be the best outcome.

It is entirely possible. When you buy the badges from Honda, the 2000 and the S are separate.
The product from Honda has all of the characters in perfect position on the carrier sheet. To take new badges and mount them wrong would, I'm sorry, take a complete moron. After my rear badge was stolen I changed out all my badges to the Black chrome EOM versions, and when I replaced the side emblems it was about as easy as falling off a bar stool...

I caught my bodyshop guy unpacking the badges, and their order was 2000 S. Maybe recently they changed it to S2000. We spent over 20 minutes trying to match the other side badge positioning.

Wow, sad, seems over time the Honda quality has dropped off.
I got the OEM Black Chrome back in '02 and the silly things were a complete nobrainer.

I used the same 3M tape that you said won't work to mount the S from the fender onto my trunk. At first I thought it wouldn't work cause of the same reasons you mentioned but if you heat it up with a hairdryer and push hard for a couple minutes, it sticks GREAT. I can't even wiggle the damn thing now its so stuck on.
