After reading your post I was surprised to see how well the car held up in the pics, I was expecting worse. That car held up very well and worked as designed.

I can tell you from experience that sometimes one inch in any direction can sometimes mean the difference between life and death, good design is one thing, being lucky is also a big part of it, and having angels on your side doesn't hurt either. It all adds up.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm indeed extremely lucky...right place at the wrong time to begin with but I feel extremely fortunate in the end. I have a lot to live for & this experience has truly changed me as a person. My outlook on life & my future, how I cherish my friends & loved ones, etc. Things like this really can't be taught, and there's nothing more effective than a near death experience when it comes to learning the value of waking up every day. Be careful out there!

I hate SUVs, or at least most of their so-called drivers. This sounds a lot like "I never saw him" accident, like many motorcycle accidents. Certainly not your fault the other driver wasn't engaged in driving their ****ing car.

The one feature I miss on my 2005 S2K is daytime running lights, which are really beneficial in combating "inattentive blindness" in other drivers. I try to remember to turn my lights on (low beam) but I'd like to have it done automatically.

I had a much less serious accident on a bike in which I broke 4 ribs and cracked my scapula. From that experience, I can imagine what your recovery was like. I hope you got a big settlement. You earned it.

Even though I know it must be tough to share, I am extremely happy that you are alive and able to tell us the memories you had with your S. I hope you have a quick recovery, and I am happy your S fought to keep you alive! This is why I wake up everyday and thank God for another day!

I know where you are coming from. I had a 2004 S2000 that I worked to get perfect and had it full repainted and everything... Got into an accident a week after it got out of the body shop (this past December). I lost control of a the car in a turn on snowy roads (my fault). The car was totaled but me and the wife only sustained minor injuries. As much as I loved the car I was glad that we both survived mostly unscathed. The car is replaceable.. I did end up getting another one shortly after.

Your crash looks horrific. Reminder for myself and all others to watch out for the "other guys" mistakes. Glad your are ok!

Thanks for the post. This was incredibly inspiring and life awakening. Sorry to hear about what happened and that you were the unfortunate victim of another douchebag careless driver on the road...

I am thankful for every single moment that I have driven my S and have gotten from point A to point B safely. Although I keep reading about these stories and feel that eventually one of these days my luck will run out.

Remember that your S2000 loves you and gave its life for you. Keep those memories of your S2000 in your heart forever and cherish them!
