Default My seat belts squeek

So - ok.

I have very few complaints about my s2million as I like to call her.

BUT WTF IS UP WITH THE SEAT BELT SQUEEK??!?>1

I hope everyone else has experienced this annoying disturbance emerging from the friction of the belt and the shoulder of the seat, causing strange sounds only inches from your earhole so that I dont seem like an idiot.

If not - GOD BLESS YOUR SEATS

If so, please join my mysery or explain to me how to fix!

Also, the owner's manual tells you how to clean them.

I read this on the board somewhere, and it works great for me.

Put a little piece (about 1" by 2") of sticky-back Velcro (fuzzy side) on the seat where the belt rubs. No squeak.

My GF's seatbelts squeak against her seats whenever somebody's using them. Cleaning the seats and belts haven't helped much. We've thought about sticking some adhesive felt on the seats where the belts rub against them, but that's not a very appealing solution. So for the meantime, we just live with it.

Another fix is to take one of those rubber wrist bands (cancer survivor) etc and loop it around the belt bracket UNDERNEATH the actual belt.

The belt will touch the rubber wrist band and not the seat as it moves. Just that extra 1/2 inch is all it takes.

It's a design flaw from Honda.

Thanks for all the responses.

I too tried the cleaning method, and it worked great .. for maybe a day.

The two links I was sent refered to seat belt rattles, and although theses are great and much appreciated, its not what I was talking about. I was refering to the squeek.

Im going to try a couple of the suggestions, and then post which was the most successful.. and maybe come up with one of my own.

Baby Powder!

The leather just needs a bit of baby powder. When the belt moves against it, it will slide effortlessly.

This has been happening to me to. Annoying as hell!!!

Remove the plastic seatbelt guide from the seat. Then, cut a piece of felt that you will place between the seat and the guide. Extend the felt long enough so that is rests between the belt and the edge of the seat. Bolt the guide back onto the seat with the screws piercing the felt. No more squeak. I used black felt on my blue seats. You cant even notice the felt. $0.99 in parts, 20 minutes of time.
