I hope you have the money to buy new tires after every 3,000 miles, because that's the only way you are going to be able to stick to your guns on this post.

BTW, I've had other types of tires on the car, and I never said that there wouldn't be better tires for all-weather conditions.

My point in starting this thread was to dispell the notion that S02's are inherently undriveable in the cold and rain, which is what a lot of people have said on this board. That's a myth.

Not all tires are equal, even when you might think they should be.

I have Michelin XW4 on a daily driver and my wife has Michelin XW4 too; however, mine suck in the rain and her's do not. While at the Detroit auto show I cornered a Michelin rep and he said they changed the compound between mine and my wifes. The earlier compound hardened over time and the car hydroplaned badly in the rain. Yep.

My point is that tire manufacturers make changes to tires that are not always visable to us. Just something to keep in mind when discussing the good vs. bad points of a tire. . . you both may be right.

When I had the S-02's on my car, I never had any problems in wet weather conditions. . .

I do have the S-03's now. . .but honestly, I feel they handle the same as the S-02's. . .in the wet!
