Default My solution to Muz Mats moving around

Came up with this while detailing the car this weekend. If you look at the stop under the gas pedal, it is held in place by 2 nuts/bolts. If you pop the cover off the bottom one, and loosen the two nuts, you can lift the bump stop up a bit and fit the front right edge of the mat under the plastic. Screw the bump stop back down to the floor and the mat is somewhat "permanently" installed. And you can still lift it up from the back to vacuum around the edges underneath. Try it out.

Took me a little while to figure out that you were talking about the FLOOR mats and not the roof well mat.

I was thinking of buying muz mats but they were kinda expensive. How would you guys rate them. Do they look alot better than the stock mats? Are they the exact color red of the rest of the interior. It would piss me off if the color was a little off!

jcasta - I would definitely recommend the Muz mats. I ordered the luxury mats with the yellow trim and s2000 logo on the crossbrace. Also ordered the heel pad on the drivers side. These are MUCH better than the cheap stock Honda mats.

The only problem that keeps PISSING me off is that the drivers mat still moves around. I will try out Bernie's suggestion and see how it works out.

The best way to remedy the situation is to use the original mat stop. Call H & A and ask for the mat gromet. Use an old Phillips screwdriver, a propane torch, the gromet, hammer and punch about the size of the gromet hole. Place the mat over the holder and mark the spot where it pushes the mat up. Pull it out heat up the end of the screwdriver until it is red hot. Gently push it through the marked area and install the gromet. Put the mat in the car over the holder and bingo instant holder. Also another little tip. Go to your local hardware store and purchase a rubber gromet just alittle smaller than the holder post. Push it over the post and the mat will stay in place on the post. No more jumping off the post. It looks factory also.

Guys .. the best solution is to use the Velcro strips that come with the mats. That's what they're for. All floormats have come with these for quite some time now for those of you that manage to move their mats around. I've never needed to use them myself.

You just peel the back off the Velcro strips and stick them running from front to back (not side to side) on the underside of the rubber backing.

Well, as someone who didn't get the velcro strips, I'll be glad to try the solution. How long a strip do you recommend? I'll go get one of those rolls of self adhesive velcro and try it out, since the sliding mat, especially on the passenger side, is really annoying. On my side, I can more easily control it, since I'm careful.
