Most things eventually sag or become assymetrical with
time. This is perhaps the least important of your worries.

I hope you're still talking about cars and not women, because with women this issue would be a very important thing to worry about!

sorry, couldn't resist that one...

I just went to the dealer today for this exact problem, before I saw this thread. I never had the top NOT go all the way down until they replaced it (under warranty) with a new one, after the original one was sliced by a part of the top. So the dealer looked at it today and decided to order the elastic straps. I should get them on in the next day or two and hope that it will fix it.

Of course it's not a big deal and it's still drivable but I try to keep up on the little things so my car stays cherry and like new. I have 31,500 miles on it and it looks like new. Besides, it's under warranty still so I want to get the little things fixed for free while I can.

Dealer also ordered the plastic that is under the windshield on the inside. This has a bulge in it right at the center. Anyone else have this happen?

also,

once you start driving the wind seems to push the top down even further, if its not already in its lowest position.
at first i thought it was a defect myself...but learned to deal with since.

well xplosiv if you think is important that is fine with me, but my car is brand new, had it for 3 months and the top wont go down like it is suppose to. In my mind it is a probleme.

I'm going for service for a couple of things, grinding first to second, the paint comming off the back of my seat because it's rubbed on the the back plastic part, so I will ask them to check the elastics of the top also.

First I gotta say, it amazes me that when someone posts a questions for help, like you did, some people have to give you shit for wanting your car right. By saying it's not a big deal and acting like you are anal is not helpful at all.

Second, I had the same problem; I could see the top out the rear view mirror when it should have been gone out of site. I had the new elastic bands put on, on July 31st, and now, 1500 miles later, the top still goes down all the way, every time.

Did you get your fixed yet?
