bro look at my sig i had state farm and my top was slashed exactly like yours now i have a hardtop, cr trunk with spoiler and cr seats and at the end of the day was left with 3000 dollars. yes insurance adjuster admired my car and said i dealt with these cars and if i got you new parts it will cost to much meaningit will total my car so he looked for parts on the internet for that not to happen in his car. He called me back and said ok i found parts seats for 4000 used and a new top installed for 2500 plus other vandalism which the total to 8900 minus 1000 deductible. im sorry but all state is not a cheap insurance company so make sure you get what you deserve because it seems like you are inexperienced when it comes to this.

OP: Agree to the used top, but make one _HUGE_ statement. Tell them it has to be in the condition of your previous top, from the pictures I see that its pretty good condition. GOOD LUCK to the insurance company to find a top in that condition. DONT accept anything less.

I was in the exact same situation as you a couple years ago.

I convinced my insurance company that having a soft top is too much of a liability as I feared it would just get slashed again. I told them I didn't want to have to make another claim if this happens again (which is a pretty good possibility).

I told them I would prefer to replace it with a hardtop as I could get a hardtop for the same price as a new soft top and labor would come out to. They agreed and paid out about $2900 which covered the cost of the hardtop for me.

My advice to you is try to make a good case to them that you can purchase a hardtop for the same amount a new soft top and labor will cost and it may save them from having to pay out another claim in the future.

Most insurance companies policies are that they have to match the price of what YOUR top WOULD have went for BEFORE the damages. Get a few quotes around what a used top would cost and that is the amount they owe you. NOT an aftermarket (unless of course yours was an aftermarket to begin with)

You must have ESURANCE. they f'ing blow BAD. One of the cheapest and worst insurance companies. you will have to get it fixed through that dealership as they will NOT cut you the check.. Had this happen to me even though I went with a Hard top so I got screwed since I didn't go the oem replacement method.

Good luck..

Edit: just saw you had allstate... Looks like another stinker. I switched to Wawanesa - they seem great, though I have yet to make a claim.

I dont see how 1800 is so terrible and aftermarket top is like 1300 installed. And 500 for a center console, radio and shift knob seems like more money then you need.

The very best aftermarket top is 1300 retail so you're looking at around 2k installed. That top is better than OEM.

Like others have said, I'd fight tooth and nail to get them to cut a check based on a dealership quote. From that, you'd be able to get a Mugen HT.
