If it is tracking straight when coasting I wouldn't think it was tire pressure or a bad tire. If it's only happening on acceleration that sounds to me like a problem with the rear end.

I just figured out what is wrong with the car. All my tires are 225/55 R16 but one, the left rear is 225/50/R16. I called the dealership and they told me they had to call me back. I bought this car Tuesday, is the dealership responsible for getting me the right tire? I had the dealership write in fix alignment on the "We Owe" list and they knew the car was pulling to the left before I left.

I think that the one on the rear right is the wrong tire right? That one is the same size as the ones in the front 225/55 R16.

Thanks so much for all your replies, you guys are great!!!!

In that case depending on the tire manufacturer there's a good chance that none of your tires are the correct size.

OEM front 205/55/16.
OEM rear 225/50/16.

Non OEM rear 245/45/16.

OEM in this case being Bridgestone Potenza S-02 (IMO)

Succes.

You'd think that, but you'd be wrong. When you're coasting, the LSD is acting as an open differential. Therefore there is no issue with different diameter tires. It's only under acceleration that the LSD binds up and forces the two rear wheels to rotate at the same speed.

The poster's situation, with one rear tire sized 225/50 and the other 225/55, is a new one to me but it certainly is the cause of his problem.

It's a complete screw-up on the part of the dealership. Whether they will own up to thier mistake and put proper tires on the car is another matter.

SpitfireS is entirely correct.

As you may, or may not know, the Torsen diff requires that both rears be the same size.

That's why you can't use the space saver on the rear.

This size differental you have may not be enough to cause damage but I would not feel good about it if it were my car for anything other than a short distance.

As this is a known requirement for the S2000s, I would expect the dealer to make it right, and soon.

225s on the front may also cause other handeling problems.

That's exactly what I've been trying to say.

Citius, you need to answer these questions right now about which tire is which size and what are the brands and models of the tires. You quite possibly (or probably) need 4 new tires. All may be the wrong size.

You also need to not drive the car any more as you could potentially damage the differential by driving with two different sized rear tires (don't freak out -- just stop, don't drive the car, and figure out what you have there). The difference in size may be insignificant -- or it may cause damage. Stop and figure out what you have and go from there.
