yeah the rears are 198 a pop plus mounting can be quite pricey to change every year or so.

the contisport contact 2 looks pretty good and is cheaper.

I don't really understand why you would want to change either...If you buy comparable aftermarket tires what have you saved? You will still have to replace them as soon as, if not sooner than OEM's.

FWIW...I have just over 9K miles on my RE050's and they are still in great shape.

tread life is a large concern of mine. come on, you have to understand where i am coming from here. i just sold my rsx-s that came with minivan tires (michelin pilot MX4 i believe). you could do burnouts all day long an they would still last you 40,000 miles. i would just like to get something that has decent tread life with good performance that wont put a hole in my pocket. i just like to get some research before i buy anything. so i can know what to ecpect. there wont be too much.....

Kronos you said that the tires seem to be treating you good, hows the traction in the wet and dry? do you think they will last you over 15K. i appreciate all your feedback guys. thanks!

I am a moderate to spirited driver at times...I don't do burnouts, drop the clutch, etc. but I do like the twisties. I drove today in flash flood conditions (freak thunderstorm) water running across the road everywhere. I had NO PROBLEMS. Not even so much as a tense moment (average speed 45+MPH). Yes I do expect them to last 15K easily, but I also expect to be there in less than 5 months. Dry traction has been excellent as well. Bottom line...you'll get the tires if you get the car, and then you can make your own decision.

kumho mx are really good.
you can read test result in tire rack. not the each individual tire section. they have a section where they compare all kinds of sport tires. get a piece of paper down and kumho mx are really really good.

personally i still like so 3.
try something different.

The RE050s are pretty good. I don't do burn outs, but I do push it pretty hard in the corners at times and I am pleased with the dry handling of the stock 050s. You have to really try to break the rear end loose.

It has been raining miserably here for two weeks and there have not been any scary moments due to the tires. Even if the rear end does break loose, they seem to hook right back up.

I will likely go back with stock when the time comes.

Keep the OEM tires on until they wear down. Then consider Toyo T1's. Good luck on your S2000 purchase soon.

I am suprised none of you suggested s03's they are a pretty good all around tire and you should be able to get 25k miles or so on them. Plus they are great in the rain as well.
