Seems to me that 2004 would make more sense..it would keep with the "typical" 4 year design cycle.

Maybe it's just me?

considering how few S2000's are made, a 2005 redesign makes more sense in $ than a 2004. Cars made in smaller numbers need to stay around longer in order to recoup any R&D costs. As it is, its amazing that Honda releases a car like this in such small runs and has them hand built instead of tooling up a assembly plant.

No one mentioned the footnotes after the table -- in case you missed it:

S2000: The roadster is slated for a re-engineering and restyling for the 2005 model year, along with a boost in horsepower.

Anyone else see that the MR-S with be gone after 2004. Why, I thought it was selling well?

I hope the 2005 comes out sort of like the current one, not loosing the spirit. I wouldn't mind trading in my 2002 S2000 and paying some extra $$$ when the time comes. (wait a minute...then why did I buy the extended warranty?)

Why wait until 2005 for more HP? by then, 240 HP/ 153 lbs/ft TQ will be very weak. They need to add more HP for 2003 (275/ 200 ) and refreshen the tires, lights and front nose.

Actually Honda's new model cycle is now five years. This started in the U.S. with the '96 model Civic which ran 5 years before major change in 2001. New Accords for '03 are first major change since 1998. Minor changes are typically introduced after 2 or 3 years.
