I was thinking of going all spoon on my car or getting this turbo kit from canada the company is called ultimate racing it was dynoed at 297 whp 300 torque and it was running 12's its $5500. The reliability issue of the turbo gets me hesetent about it. I would wonder what I run with spoon exhaust, throttle body, intake, sport ecu, cams, valve springs. I love jdm cars but I want to be quick so im thinking turbo. I live in colorado,so turbo cars run a lot better up here. Need some help thanks.

having a very fast n/a car is too expensive for me, id rather go with the turbo/supercharger route. the key is tuning when it comes to f/i, you need ample amounts of fuel or you'll detonate(running too lean). aem ems is a great way to control this. if your car is tuned properly, reliability shouldn't be a real issue.

sure a fast, all-motor car will get you respect...but when you think about you'll end up asking yourself if "it was really worth it".

good luck.

Yeah Razor is right, all motor is very difficult to attain the gains of an FI and is really expensive. I'm personally looking into rear axle upgrades and a rear diff upgrade before turboing my car. That way I can add a grabbier clutch and not have to worry about my cv axles or diff breaking.

Also, you have to look into this turbo kit. Yeah, it may have ran 12's but what else was done to the car? Was the motor built for the turbo? A N/A car has a higher compression (I think more like 10:1 or around there) and a Turbo'd car is about 8:1. Lower the compression, causes more turbo lag but a thinner HG will fix that.

If you just throw on a turbo kit and dont build up the motor, dont be depressed when you cant hit 12's like you see advertized. Probably the most you can run for boost on it would be about 6 PSI or so. A built motor could run about 15-30 psi or more depending on what is used.

Lastly, Razor is right. Tuning is the key. Without proper fuel managment, you risk detonation. Too much detonation will cause you to burn the tips off your plugs (this is not fun as they tear up your head, trust me), among other things. On the other end, running too rich, and you risk Cylinder wash, which will lead to blowing your motor.

Once again, tuning is the key. Dont cut corners and be prepared to direct deposit your paycheck to your mechanic. OK, it may not be that abd, but alot goes into it and if you're not financially set for it, then it may not be for you. If you can spend about $10K+ on getting what you need and all the work done, then go for it, I want to see the S in the 1/4!!!

BTW, we spent over $35k on an MR2T that was to have 600 rwhp, do the 1/4 in 10 seconds or less. Lets jsut say, we did everything all out on it with top line products and all corners filled, and it wouldnt last more then 20 mins at idle. No more "Go" for us anymore
