Default Nasty Rattle in Front End When Engine Shuts Off

Just started noticing it. I'm due for the final service before the warranty expires this week. What is it and what should I do?

No explanation to that ... Mine does that as well, it doesn't really bother me anymore.

You might want to check the hood-prop rod.........The plastic holder may be loose/broken.

I don't get a rattle, but I get a little squeak as the last jigglies die down when I turn off the engine. Kinda like a girl sneeze.

Heat shield(s), dry engine mount rubbers. If you go out and watch your engine when someone turns it off, you see it "shudder" a bit. If there is something slightly loose, or bent out of shape or dry rubber bushings, this shudder produces enough physical engine movement to cause any of these things to make its own characteristic noise. You could go absolutely nuts trying to zero in on it and stop it.

Is it a jiggle or is the engine running on and detonating? This was common in pre-fuel injected cars. Contaminants in the cylinders ignite any residual gases after the engine has been turned off and it sounds like a fairly clunky rattle.

Pure shot in the dark, but - maybe the valves need adjusting?
