Default Need further help with abs fault diagnosis

Hello guys. As the title states I cannot figure out how to get my abs fixed. I cleared the dtcs and 81 came back after a drive indicating faulty abs control module. I replaced the unit with a known good, I now cannot perform abs reset and am getting no flashes to indicate further trouble codes.. I have voltage at the connector, continuity where the manual calls for it, and all fuses are good. Please help me. Thank you.

Knowing what car you have (some things differ depending on model year) may be helpful as well using a code reader rather than counting flashes (assuming that's what "81" means).

2003 which uses OBD1 connector, assuming I have that information correct. Diagnostic trouble codes are found by shorting the SCS and translating the code flash sequence, according to the manual

OBD1? So yours is a JDM, not USDM model? I thought even on the JDM they went to OBD2 by 2003 but I am not sure. Every USDM model will be OBD2.

But, ABS codes are not read via typical OBD and are read by either a special tool or shorting the pins and reading the flashes as you stated.

So with the new module, do you have a constant ABS light on?

Note the connector shapes (this is an adapter but gives the idea).

Thanks for the clarification on the obd2 connector. Not sure why I assumed that.. Got the abs issue solved, ended up being a broken wire. Thanks everyone for the input
